What's new on URLR? - May 2022

Our last article about what’s new in URLR was in November 2021. So, it’s time to introduce you to everything that’s happened on URLR since then.

πŸͺ„ A graphic redesign

This is probably what jumps out most quickly. We’ve done a redesign of our homepage as well as some small touch visual improvements on the overall level:

  • a more impactful homepage that goes to the essential: link reduction
  • a new ultra-fast account creation system if you reduce a link without an account
  • a new font, more modern and easier to read
  • less rounded shapes that make everything more harmonious

πŸ” New security options

Your personal account now gives access to a dedicated “Security” section.

So, from this area, you can change your password and since recently, you can now set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for more security.

πŸ“± Two-factor authentication (2FA)

You can enable it on any application that can generate OTP codes (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy,…).

πŸ“ˆ Referrer sites now present in statistics

You want to know where the visitors who clicked on your link come from? You can now find this information next to the location statistics.

πŸ“’ Documentation available

Even if we try to make our platform as simple as possible, we know that some operations are more complex than others. For example, this is the case with the configuration of custom domains. This requires touching the DNS of your domain at your hosting company.

That’s why we have put online our documentation with for first topic this very point : Configure a custom domain.

πŸ“° New blog

We have separated the blog from the platform to be able to write articles more easily and more often. Reading is more enjoyable and the articles load very quickly.

βš™οΈ And also

Obviously, you may have noticed other changes but this article covers the most important ones.

Also, most of the work is happening behind the scenes. We are constantly improving our infrastructure to be able to absorb the increased load in terms of link reductions and redirects performed.

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any comments or questions:

Thanks for reading and see you soon.
